It is with great sadness and much love that our family announces the peaceful passing of Marcel after his 5 year battle with dementia.

Marcel is predeceased by his parents, Lucien in 1971 and Emma in 1942 and his sister Jean (Bill) in 2020. Marcel is survived by his sons Anthony (Kathryn) and Paul; sisters, Lorraine (Ollie), Yvonne and Janet; brothers, Andre (Rachelle), Maurice and Normand; grandchildren, Danielle (Kurt), Loralee (Lance), Reyhan, Maria, Courtney and Chris; and many nieces and nephews.

Marcel will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Although the passing of our beloved father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend has left a deep rift in our hearts, he will always be remembered for his zest for life and his spirit of adventure.

Due to COVID restrictions, a small family service will take place at this time. A live stream of the service will be available for those that cannot attend by clicking on the link below:

If friends so desire, Memorial Donations may be made in Marcel’s memory to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories or to a charity of one’s choice.

I was deeply saddened to read of Marcel's passing. We had a friendship that endured for 63 years. We sold stainless steel pots together when Marcel had an old Monarch/Mercury car with the rear bumper reading MARCEL---MARIE. We talked success in the stock marker for hours on end and Marcel took me for a ride on his Greyhound bus. When I was in Edmonton Marcel always invited me to stay at his place AND HE LOOKED AFTER ME LIKE I WAS ROYALTY. Marcel offered me unconditional friendship always. Earth has lost a great bus driver BUT THE GATES OF HEAVEN WILL BE OPEN TO MARCEL AND MARCEL WILL DRIVE ON STREETS OF GOLD WITH ANGELS ON HIS BUS. , AND HE WILL DRIVE TO GLORY. R.I.P. DEAR FRIEND.

Papa will forever be in my heart, he was such a wonderful, kind, spirited man. When I was a child Papa would surprise me with bags of jelly beans and chocolates by hiding them under my pillow during sleep overs. Papa always brightened our day when we were together.
I am going to miss him forever and will always think back to my memories of time spent together.
I love you Papa.
