A graduate of Scott Collegiate and Balfour Technical School (Regina). Margaret served as secretary to the Commissioner of the Regina Chamber of Commerce and to the General Manager of the Regina International Airport. In 1967, the family relocated to Edmonton. There she worked in the office at Southgate Woodwards, and for the Edmonton Public School Board as Secretary at L.Y. Cairns and Malmo Elementary Schools.
An avid curler and golfer, she was a member of the Tam O’Shanter Curling Club (Regina), Balmoral Curling Club (Edmonton), and the Leduc Golf & Country Club. It was, while curling in Edmonton, that she became a member of the Northern Alberta Ladies’ Curling Assoc. Eight-Enders’ Club. After retirement, Margaret and her husband made several trips overseas and spent many winters in Mesa, Arizona where they accumulated numerous friends.
Margaret was always proud of her Manx heritage. She continued to be a staunch supporter of the City of Regina and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. She was a member of St. Timothy’s Anglican Church (Edmonton) and former member of St. Luke’s (Regina).
Margaret was organized and determined in all that she did, proud of the life she built, and truly a force to be reckoned with. She was all about family, always interested in hearing the latest escapades, watching videos of the great grandkid’s activities, and looking for any new pictures on her Aura picture frame. She was someone who found joy in her crafts, garden and at the bridge table. She maintained many friendships both locally and around the world, connecting by letter, e-mail, and telephone. She will be missed!
