Geraldina was born in Sao Miguel Azores to Manuel Candido and Herminia Marques on February 14, 1925. She was the eldest of her three sisters-Alzira, Ermelinda and Herminia. At the age of 20, she married Evaristo Medeiros, who was widowed with two children (Mariazinha and Luiz). In 1945 her son Edwardo was born and was followed by her daughter Anna Maria five years later. The family immigrated to Sao Paulo, Brazil in 1963 for a short time and in 1966 made the move to Edmonton, Alberta. In 1969 Geraldina and Evaristo welcomed their youngest child Steven.
Geraldina loved to garden and to spend time with her family. She especially loved to help raise her grandchildren and great grandchildren and to watch her family grow….She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
