Marianne was born in Naicam, SK on June 18, 1937 and spent her life in Saskatoon, SK prior to getting married to Alvin (Buck) on June 6, 1959 and moving to Edmonton 7 years later to settle and raise their family.
Marianne leaves to mourn her five daughters; Elaine (Sid) Holland, Terri (Rob) Haslam, Jacki Schrader; Maureen (Dale) Tremblay, Diane (Darren) Lysak, grandchildren; Kyle (Sarah), Michelle (Cody), Dylan, Janet, Acadia, Keira, Danielle and Dayna
She is survived by her sister, Bertha (Jim) Megaffin of Saskatoon, SK, her sister-in-law, Audrey Hovind of Port Alberni, BC as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Marianne was pre-deceased by her husband; Alvin (Buck) in 2007 sister; Jean Dotten and parents; James and Bertha Christie.
Marianne was an avid volunteer with Dovercourt Community League and was inducted into the Alberta Softball Hall of Fame as a builder. She was a fan of watching all five daughters participate in sports and eventually her grandchildren. It was no coincidence that Marianne passed away just over an hour after the Canadian Women’s Softball Team won their first ever Olympic medal.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 2, 2021 at 11:00 am at Memories Funeral Home and Crematorium 13403 St Albert Trail, Edmonton.
