

On Tuesday, August 22nd, 2023, Marlene Kwan passed away peacefully at the Roozen Family Hospice Centre in Edmonton, Alberta after a courageous 3-year battle with Breast Cancer. She will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Marlene is survived by her husband Andrew Terefe; daughter Kaisha Terefe; brother Harvey (Carol) Kwan; sisters Betty Kwan; Hazel Kwan; brothers-in-law Gizachew (Debritu) Terefe; Michael (Rachel) Terefe; Joseph (Jalallee) Terefe; sisters-in-law Vivian Kwan; Zewditu Terefe; Berhane (Tesfaye) Terefe; Abonesh (Tariku) Terefe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marlene was predeceased by her parents Jim Kwan and Louise Kwan; brothers George Kwan; Joe Kwan; Yum Kwan; and sister-in-law Sylvia Kwan.
Our family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Marlene’s care team including Oncologist Dr. Sanraj Basi, Palliative Care Physician Dr. Samuel Fanous, and the staff at the Roozen Family Hospice Centre.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 29th 12:00 p.m. at Hainstock’s Funeral Home (9810 34 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T6E 6L1), followed by a reception.
