Matthew George Collins

Matthew Collins, loving husband and father passed away at the age of 85 on January 19, 2023. Matt was born August 8, 1937 in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; his three sons, Matthew (Shawna), Bill (Pam), and John (Angela);and his grandchildren, Jaymie, Dylan, Kyle, Sarah and Ethan. He was predeceased by his son Don in 2014. Matt was active in Alberta politics as a provincial coordinator, he worked in Alberta Economic Development, Imperial Oil and enjoyed his time on the Traffic Safety Board. Matt was active in coaching hockey in the Riverbend community league. Matt would often be seen rollerblading through the neighbourhood as Santa Claus and caroling with his family and neighbours. He enjoyed travelling the world and wintering in Hawaii. A Celebration of Matt’s Life will be in June.
