It is with great sadness we mark the passing of our beloved Husband, Dad, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. Mike passed away peacefully in his sleep after a short illness.
Mike is predeceased by his Mother and Father – Mike and Doris Toma, his sisters Elsie Holland, Eleanor Pawlick, Mary Kolot, his brother Kenny Toma and his only son Michael Toma.
He is survived by his wife Sharolynne Toma, his daughters June Elgert (Don), Shelly Steckler (Joey), Grandkids Brandy Nielsen (Travis) and Donald Elgert (Berenice), Chelsie Bargh, Michael and Lucas Toma, his Great Grandkids Noah and Jacob Nielsen.
Rewarded in his final days with great love, care and comfort for his well being by his wife, daughter and grandkids. Many thanks to the staff on Palliative Care Unit 3-3603 at St Josephs for his excellent and kind end of life care.
Kind and generous to a fault, he always had a kind word and a smile for everyone. He had morality and taught us to build your family up, be proud in their accomplishments and help them without complaint.
Quite and unassuming in his ways, he was not much of a talker. However, he loved, hunting, camping and fishing. He had a love of life, curiosity and a wide range of interests in the world and its events, and he loved watching curling, hockey and Olympics appreciating how much talent these players had.
No matter what he was ever asked to do he would always be there to help with never a complaint. His work ethic was amazing and this has been passed to the generations – his children, their children and now their children.
He is probably having a Chinese lunch with his son Michael and the rest of family that have passed, telling them all the stories that they have missed.
Loved and missed immensely everyday, but knowing that he is now at peace with his family and hopefully singing with the Angels with his great voice.
