Monirehkhanom Rohani

Our beloved Monireh passed away peacefully on June 7, 2023 at the age of 94. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was the epitome of strength and bravely embodied the virtues of integrity and steadfastness in the face of hardship throughout her life. She was wholly devoted to her Faith and showed loving kindness to all who crossed her path. Monireh's resilience helped her withstand the oppression her family faced as a result of their belief in the Bahá'í Faith, including the martyrdom of her brother, the imprisonment of her son, and the confiscation of all their belongings. Her exemplary character and courage became the cornerstone of her family's faith and devotion.

Monireh is predeceased by her loving husband, Heshmatollah Sobhani and her 4 siblings. She is survived by her 6 children, Sohrab (Diana), Shahin (Sohrab), Zarrin (Farahmand), Shahla, Saeed (Neda) and Vida (Faramarz), 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Please join us for a Bahá'í funeral and celebration of Monireh's life on Monday, June 12 at 10:00 AM at Hainstock's Funeral Home in Edmonton, with interment to follow at South Haven Cemetery at 11:30.
