Nigel William Cattell

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Nigel William Cattell, of Edmonton, formerly of Leicester, England on the 6th day of February, 2025 at the age of 72 after a courageous battle with cancer.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Ashley Hughes and her husband Jarett, and Christopher Cattell, along with his cherished grandchildren, Abigail Cattell, and Eira & Phoenix Hughes. Nigel will also be fondly remembered by his former wife and mother of his children, Janet Cattell.

Nigel was predeceased by his father, William James Cattell, his brother, John Cattell, and his mother, June Lillian Cattell.

Nigel was a man who found deep fulfillment and purpose in his work, always taking great pride in contributing his talents as a Draftsman, Engineering Technician, and Production Manager. His dedication to his craft was matched only by his unwavering love for nature, where he found peace and joy in all things bright and beautiful. Whether tending to his garden, fly fishing, or enjoying a round of golf, Nigel cherished the simple moments that connected him to the world around him.

Yet, above all, Nigel considered his children his greatest achievement, and he found boundless joy and pride in being a grandpa.

Nigel’s legacy is defined by his kindness, warmth, and the uplifting spirit he brought to those around him. His love for the outdoors, generosity, and joyful nature will forever be remembered and dearly missed by all who were fortunate to know him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday February 22, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Hainstock’s Funeral Home & Crematorium 9810 34 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T6E 6L1.

Memorial donations may be made in Nigel Cattell’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society.
