Opal Dunbar passed away peacefully on December 12, 2021 at the age of 95. She was born in 1926 at Bruderheim and grew up on a homestead in Beaverlodge with her parents Percy and Matilda Howatt. In 1944, Opal made her journey to Edmonton and enrolled at Nu-Fashion Beauty School. In 1946 she married Richard Woodsworth and started her family two years later. Surviving children are Barbara (Mike), Douglas (Glenda), and Donna (Roy), daughter in-law Lucille, as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Opal was predeceased by parents Percy and Matilda Howatt, first husband and father of her children Richard Woodsworth, daughter Patricia, son Gary, sister Bernice as well as husband, Alex Dunbar.
