Born in Waterford, Ontario. Paul grew up in Rodney, Ontario where his family farm grew tobacco, corn, watermelon, strawberries, etc. He didn’t like farming and would rather play music. He took steel guitar lessons at 13 and was playing for dances before long. He taught music in the London, St. Thomas area for many years.
In 1969 he moved to Edmonton to set up music lesson studios and met his future wife, Sheila. Two years later they were married. Together they set up music studios in Calgary, Medicine Hat, Lethbridge and Winnipeg before moving back to Ontario to help his parents. Their two children, Toni and Stephen, were born in Chatham, Ontario and in 1977 they moved back to Edmonton.
Paul sold real-estate, worked in construction, got his boiler makers certificate and worked for Canamara Foods for many years. In 1985 moved to Sherwood Park and in 1992 purchased the Garbage Man. But his main love was music.
His playing career spanned 70 years. In that time he played with many talented musicians and was a part of multiple recording sessions. He played across Canada, the United States and as far away as Ireland and Australia.
He will be missed by all those who knew him.
