June 23, 1950- October 29, 2012
It is with broken hearts and profound sadness that the family of Roy announces his peaceful passing. Born and raised in Durban, South Africa, Roy broke through the oppressive barrier of apartheid to
become the first Indian Electrical Engineer in the country, paving the way for his immigration to Edmonton in 1977. He leaves exceptionally special memories that will always be cherished by his dear wife
Pushpa, children Raksha (Shekhar) and Roger, and grandchildren Asha and Rohit.
Roy's sisters and brothers Shirley, Pam, Roselyn, Saroj, Petty, Shan, and Richard are comforted knowing he is peacefully resting with his dear brothers Raju and Gabriel, sisters Norma and Val, and parents
Mitchell and Bangari.
A viewing will take place Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Hainstocks’ Funeral Home.
A celebration of Roy's life will be held on Friday November 2, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Hainstock's Funeral Home 9810-34ave, Edmonton. The family would like to express their sincere and heartfelt
appreciation to the staff at the Cross Cancer Institute and the wonderful nurses and doctors in Unit 43 of the Grey Nuns hospital.
