We are truly blessed to of had Sam in our lives - words cannot describe our sadness.

She will always be remembered as a fun loving, caring, generous and thoughtful individual and her memory shall live on forever.

Samantha was always so sweet, and loving with your kids, as she and I would talk about how "pooped" our kids were after each game. Sam was a couple of grades behind me in school, she was friends with my friends sister.  I remember her always with a smile on her face. She was the kindest person and from all these messages, it is wonderful to hear that she never changed. There was something so special about Sam.  She had that enigmatic quality, that brightness within her that is unique and rare.  She was always so polished and her style and taste were impeccable.  Her smile and laugh were always present, even in the face of adversity, she never let anything get her down. She was a "life happens, we have to move on" kind of person.  She lived in the moment, and her genuine love of people and life in general is something I was always in awe of.  I am so proud to have called her a friend, I am so grateful for the time we spent together and the support she gave me.  I hope she knew how much she meant to me, how much I loved her.  Lynne, I am so devastated for you, I am thinking of you and will continue to.  Blake, you were so loved, so respected, such a great husband.  My heart goes out to you, and the kids. I was fortunate to have known Sam since the beginning of her hairstyling career and she was truly one of the most talented, genuine, funny people I have ever worked with. She set the bar very high as a person and a professional and will never be forgotten by so many. My condolences to her beloved family.

I am heart broken to hear this news about Samantha.  I have fondly rememberd her over the years, when I think back to my teaching career at ESBCH. My prayers are with your family durng this very sad time.

Sam was in grade 9 my very first year teaching.  She was an absolute delight to have in class.  She had such an amazing spirit and I have thought of her fondly many times over the past 18 years. I didn't know Sam personally, but have heard many great stories about the time she spent with the Budd family close to a decade ago. I wrote a long message last night, but to sum it up - Bailey and Brody, your mother was an amazingly kind, considerate, giving, genuine, down-to-earth woman who was a rare combination of beauty on the outside AND inside. She inspired me in my hairstyling career, even after the 4 year gap in working with her/knowing her. You both are so blessed to share her genetics. I can honestly say I have never met a kinder and more inspirational and strong woman in my life. She was a rare and treasured gem, for the years we were co-workers and friends. Rest in Peace SLY :) You will be missed and never replaced. I hope more women can learn from your shining example as I did. Your example has really and trully lead me to be a better person and to believe that SOME really pretty girls as yourself, are sweet and kind on the inside. <3 LAS

We were only co-workers for 2+ years, but I want you to know that you have been the only person I have ever met to have been beautiful on the outside, and kind as ever on the inside. When I took my short venture in to hairstyling, I tried to mimic your approach to your clients, new, old, request or walk-in, you treated every one like they were your oldest and best friend. You also carried that over to your co-workers, and especially me. I have never met someone that was so pretty but so genuine and down-to-earth as you. I wish I could have told you this sooner. You have impacted my life immenseley, and taught me that every person deserves to be treated kindly and without judgement. Even those weekends when you travelled to Edmonton to be with you Dad, under so much stress I imagine, you never complained, never let it affect your relationships or your work. It saddens me deeply that the world has lost such a rare and considerate soul. You will be deeply missed.
