Shirley was born on August 10, 1934 in Port Nelson, Newfoundland, and lived a life rooted in love, resilience, and devotion to family. She was the beloved wife of George Gates, and together they shared a lifetime of memories, laughter, and unwavering partnership.
She will be deeply missed by her children Janice(Glenn), Kim(Peter), David(Francine), and Glynn(Chieko), and lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Matthew, Mackenzie, Jonathan,Jordan, Justin, Sarah, Celina, and Cassia.
Shirley’s warmth, wisdom, and quiet strength touched everyone who knew her. Her life was a testament to kindness and grace, and her legacy lives on through her family and all those whose lives she brightened.
