You may call it a happy coincidence, a strange encounter, and to many, an angelic match-making, my Dad will surprise you with a life story out of the ordinary.
One day, my father was dining with a group of buddies in a dim-sum restaurant. He was showing his photographic prints taken from a recent journey to Halifax to his buddies. He had a few enlarged photos on temporary display on the glass partition while he was telling the photo stories behind his artwork. A diner at the restaurant passed by and saw his pictures, he so liked one of photos that the idea of having it as his wife's birthday gift immediately popped up in his mind. He had for long ponder over the gift idea, and a unique scenic picture with all the lovers' romance in the air would be the perfect gift.  They had a deal, a great chat, and the surprise joy of the day.

My reflection on Tam Bak's passing...

Time flies, as we get older, we can't turn back the clock, or cling to those we love forever, as in a cruise, we all have to pack up and disembark when the cruise is over, as much as we want to linger a bit longer to enjoy the beautiful scenery. What's left are the sweet memories of being with the ones we love. The sudden departure of our beloved Brother Tam Bak brought this reality even closer to home for us all who know him well. Tam Bak has lived a good life, being so much enriched by becoming a Christian.
 
I pray that when it's time for me to disembark the cruise, I will have truly lived and fully enjoyed the journey, leaving nothing but a lasting legacy for those whose lives I touched.

I remember that during many group outdoor walks, we had very interesting and humorous conversations.  Tam Pak showed his good character and composure.  He shared his photography experience, which were of high standard.  He pointed out that everything God created on earth were wonderful and amazing.  A few times I had the impulse to travel with him, to capture photos as good as what he did!

Tam Pak, how you lived your life has given me great inspiration in life!

Although we have only known each other for a few months, you invited me to go to Jasper with you when we first met. Thank you for your invitation.

I remember one time when we had dim-sum, you suddenly said to me: "You go into politics, for sure I will support you." I didn't know how to answer you at the time, but later when I thought about it, I wonder if I had said something that made you so appreciative of me.  Well, I will ask you when we meet in  heaven. 

Your sudden departure was instrumental to Mr. Chow Senior in making a quick decision to believe in the Lord.  You gave another very important testimony for God.  Thank the Lord! 🙏🏻

Tam Bak, you once said to me: "Susana, I like to listen to your sharing."  After you had read the short article I wrote in our Church Magazine, you borrowed from me the book “PAPA Prayer “ that I  mentioned in the article. 

I greatly appreciate your sincerity and admire your pursue for God.

Although Tam Bak was already in his seventies (15 years ago) when he believed in the Lord, he had always been actively involved in life at church, and often volunteered as a photographer at church events.

Since the covid pandemic, Tam Bak had been attending my Sunday school class.   He had a strong desire for God's Word.  Even at the age of more than 90, he still drove to church every week to attend our in-person worship. Every time when I saw him, he always had his signature smile on his face.  Also, he often had words of appreciation and encouragement to brothers and sisters.  Tam Bak had been living a wonderful and abundant life in the past 15 years since he became a Christian.

Now that Tam Bak is in heaven with our Lord, besides his family, I also miss him very much.  I especially cherish the picture of maple leaf he gave me. 

Tam Bak, see you again in heaven!
