An outstanding life of 98 plus years for a remarkable man sadly has come to an end. Stewart Gerald Wyatt (Gerry) passed away on September 20th after spending his final days in the Kipnes Centre in Edmonton.
Dad was born May 9, 1927 in the Wolseley Barracks in London, Ontario. His early life centred around the Army, which he eventually joined as the Second World War was drawing to an end. He learned his draughtsman trade with the Royal Canadian Engineers, and those duties took him to Edmonton in 1950 where he met his soul-mate Elizabeth Walker (Libby) and they married on September 13, 1951. They had four children, Dorothy (Gilles) Droucker, Bob (Sharon) Wyatt, Christine Nowack, and Bryan (Laurie Hill) Wyatt.
Following his retirement from the army in 1967 at the rank of Warrant Officer 2nd class, Dad took his trade into civilian life starting with a two-year stint with Atomic Energy Canada and a move to Pinawa, Manitoba. Then, he landed his final career stop at the University of Alberta in Edmonton where he worked in the physical plant until his final retirement at the age of 63.
Dad and Mom had 13 grandchildren, Jaimie, Jeremie, Melisa, Samanthae, Katie and Siobhan Droucker of Dorothy and Gilles (Deroche, B.C) . Joanne, Andrew, Daniel and Theresa Nowack of Chris. Cody and Brennan Wyatt of Bob and Sharon, and Felicity Wyatt of Bryan Wyatt and Laurie Hill (Thunder Bay, ON). Also, 18 great grandchildren.
