It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tanis Lynne Nicholson on January 4th, 2026.
Left to grieve her loss are her daughter Calene, mother Elsie, brother Michael, sister Lillian and brother Darwin (Lisa). Step-Children: Scott, Tara (Dexter), Bryce (Stephanie); Grandchildren: Zachary, Aiden, Seth, Jude, Ashton and Brynne; Nieces and Nephews: Whitney, Macey, Hunter, Ashley, Emily and Colton (Sarah), Brothers-in-law: Warren, Brad (Anne) Darryl and Sister-in-law Pam (Brad), as well as extended family and many friends.
Tanis was predeceased by her Dad James Allen McDonald (1982) and her Husband Greg (2023).
Tanis spent most of her working career in civic service, starting as a court clerk in Regina, Saskatchewan. When she moved to Edmonton, she began her career with the Edmonton Police Service at West Division Station as a civilian employee and ended her career at Edmonton City Hall after 32 years.
Tanis was an avid reader and gardener, she created beautiful cross-stitch pieces and most recently took up crocheting. Tanis loved to travel, crossing many places off her bucket list, most recently a cruise to Alaska with her daughter. Tanis will always be remembered for her feisty attitude and witty sense of humour. She spent the last summer at her seasonal lot, her happy place where she met wonderful people who became family.
There will be no service as per Tanis's wishes.
Memorial donations can be made to the Edmonton Humane Society or Myeloma Alberta Support Society.
