Timothy Andrew Barton

Tim passed away peacefully at the University of Alberta Hospital on December 29, 2025 at 82 years of age.

Tim was the beloved father of Roger, Tim Pelly (Catie), and predeceased by his son Gregory. He was the proud grandfather of Jessica (David Sword), Sadie, Isis, Sora, Greja and Andrew. Tim was the brother of Judy Crawford, Ruth Carroll (Ron), and Miriam Lawson and brother-In-law of John Small, Beverley Barton, and Marile Escobal. He will be missed by his 25 nieces and nephews as well as his best friend, Richard Winkweder. He will also be remembered by his ex-wife, Diane Frank.

Tim was predeceased by his parents, Dorothy (nee Fudge) and Dan Barton, as well as his wife, Joyce Pelly, his partner Rosalie, and his siblings, May Trottier, Danny, Betty Small, Ben, and Mike (Tim's twin who Tim always reminded he was 10 minutes older than.)

Tim was born in Kirkland Lake Ontario where his young life was very involved with family and faith. He enjoyed many outdoor activities with his family. In the 1960's, he moved west to British Columbia and Alberta and loved the environment.

Tim was a very determined hard working strong person who enjoyed a career as an Ironworker for many years. He enjoyed working on cars, although sometimes being frustrated with them.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses from Cross Cancer Institute, the Alberta University Hospital, and the nurses and staff from Chateau Vitaline for their support, care, and kindness.

If desired, memorial donations can be made to the Cross Cancer Institute, or instead of a donation and since Tim was noted for his kindness, the family suggests that you please be kind to someone: call a friend or relative you haven't reached out to recently, visit a shut-in, or forgive someone. All acts of kindness are appreciated.

A funeral service for Tim will take place on Friday, January 23rd, 2026 at 2pm at Memories Funeral Home, 13403 St. Albert Trail, Edmonton, Alberta. The service will be livestreamed and guests can join remotely at the time of service using the "Join Livestream" link below under the Services section.
