OBITUARY
Tracy Louise Shaw
February 3, 1971 – October 31, 2019
It is with great sorrow that the family of Tracy Louise Shaw of St. Albert announce her passing at the Sturgeon Community Hospital, St. Albert, on October 31, 2019.
Tracy is survived by her loving children; son, Cameron and daughter, Abby of Edmonton, husband; Mike Shaw of Edmonton, mother; Carolyn Boychuk of St. Albert, brother and sister-in law; Darren and Sherry Vanstone of Mexico, father; Larry Vanstone (Marilyn) of Ontario, Mike’s parents; Walter and Marg Shaw, his son; Andrew Lane (Tasha), brother; Barry (Geri) Shaw, sister; Maureen (Des) Stauffer, and sister; D’Anne (Jay) Ruptash and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and neighbors. She was pre-deceased by her brother; Blaine Vanstone in 1990 and her stepfather; Ron Boychuk in 2014.
Tracy was born in Surrey, B.C. on February 3, 1971 and spent her early years in Kamloops, Salmon Arm and Calgary, until the family settled in Edmonton in 1979. She attended Clara Tyner Elementary, Carnaervon Elementary, Rosslyn Jr. High and Queen Elizabeth High School. She liked to swim and skate, loved soccer and track and played in the school band. Friends were many and always the main focus of her life. In 1993 Tracy married Mike Shaw and they happily welcomed a son, Cameron, in 2001 and a daughter Abby in 2006.
Tracy enjoyed many years working in the bridal industry and camping, quadding, fishing, boating, campfires and times at the cabin. Disneyland with her family was her dream vacation. Many animals were welcomed into the family home. Friends or strangers in need, homeless animals – Tracy welcomed them all with kindness and open arms, no questions asked. The family wishes to extend their deep gratitude to the kind and caring staff of the Emergency Dept. at the Sturgeon for the care and kindness we were shown in our time of great stress and sorrow.
Our world is so much better because of people like you.
No flowers by request. Donations to the Sturgeon Community Hospital, St. Albert in memory of Tracy will be gratefully accepted. Please also consider becoming a blood donor.

I met Tracy when I was 5 or so years old in Salmon Arm.
They lived up the road from us and my brothers and Darren & Blaine often hung out and skateboarded together.
Tracy was my 1st true good friend and I am so grateful to have known her in one of the greatest decades ever, the early 70's.
Times were so much simpler and fun back then...no computers, cell phones, or social media; just good old picking up the phone or dropping by with a knock on the door to see if it was time to go for a bike ride or get up to no good.
I remember Tracy was with me when we flew down the st (what was a huge hill to us small folk) in our cul-de-sac on our bikes and I wiped out at the bottom of the street only to crack my head on the cement and go unconscious.
Tracy ran back to my house to get my parents and I was rushed to the hospital with a concussion.
I remember that like it was yesterday, vividly.
Thanks Tracy for the good memories. I am grateful for having met you and your family during the greatest times of our lives as kids and I wish you well rest, peace, and a rewarding long next life.
Much love to you, Darren, & your Momma Carolyn.

I was so saddened to hear of Tracy’s passing. I first met Tracy and her family during our kids elementary years and later on as our boys played soccer together. You are all in my thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.

Tracy and her beautiful smile, first lit up our lives, when Cam and Cole met in preschool and continued when Abby and Remy also became schoolmates. Tracy always had a kind word and a laugh to share, no matter the circumstances. Our deepest sympathies to her loved ones - may your cherished memories fill you with her radiance.

What a beautiful and touching tribute video for Tracy. So many happy and memorable times to cherish.
Many fond memories were built with Tracy over our elementary and junior high years. She was always so fun to be with and was known as our tall, beautiful "Brooke Shields." We always had fun going to the mall to visit her mom who always gave us free beauty samples. A highlight one summer was spending time with her at my grandma's place in Penticton (when she was visiting her grandma in B.C.)
Sending my heartfelt condolences to her family and children.
Sincerely,
Elisha Frank (Farrell)

We met when the kids were in school. My daughter and Abby were friends and Tracy was always up for a chat at school or a doorway visit picking the girls up from each other’s houses. Always so kind and full of smiles! Keeping you all in our thoughts and sending love and support.

My deepest condolences to Tracy's family.
I went to High School with Tracy and remember her beautiful big smile. We have run into each other off and on over the years in St. Albert and it was always good to see her and have a quick chat.
Rest easy my friend.

Tracy you will be missed by many. My heart goes out to your family especially your children. We may not have spoken often but I always enjoyed the times we did spend catching up at Jadine's reminiscing about our teenage years and talking about our kids growing up . Rest in peace Tracy.... till we meet again.

To her children ~ I worked with your Mom for a couple years, and although I never met you - I saw your happy little faces taped to the the wall beside her desk every day. Wishing you comfort in the happy memories you keep of her.
