SALY, Victor David passed away on February 25, 2021 at the age of 74. Victor was born in Lethbridge, Alberta to Elizabeth and Andrew Saly on January 15, 1947, and he was raised in Lethbridge where he met and married the love of his life, Loretta Wasylishen.
In 1969, Victor and Loretta moved to Edmonton, Alberta where they started a family of their own, raising two beautiful children, Jason and Reagan.
Living and working in Edmonton for 51 years, Victor was passionate about and well respected in the field of urban land development and transportation design where he worked tirelessly to serve his community, and to mentor and nurture others. He was, without question, a committed colleague, peer and friend to many.
Victor will be forever missed by his loving wife of 51 years, Loretta, and their children Jason (Tracy) Saly, granddaughter Jenna; Reagan (Brian) Young, grandchildren Nathan, Alex and Shelby. He will also be missed by surviving brother Andy (Elfie) Saly; sisters-in-law Judy (Don) Chervinski; Sheila (Herman) OldeHeuvel, as well as his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mom and dad, Elizabeth and Andrew Saly; his sister Margaret (Les) Gugyelka; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Stan and Jean Wasylishen.
Victor was one of a kind. His smile was biggest when he was spending quality time with his children, grandchildren and family. He showed up for everyone he loved. His sense of humour, kindness and nurturing personality will continue to be cherished by the family and close friends he now watches over.
