Victoria Operiano Fulguerinas, fondly called Toring or Mother Vicky, died last December 31, 2019 at the age of 94. She peacefully passed away in her home at Edmonton, Alberta surrounded by her loving family.
Toring was born on September 10, 1925 in Dauis, Bohol, Philippines. She was the eldest amongst nine siblings. She’s married to Conrado Fulguerinas on January 14, 1948. They raised eight children namely Carling, Annie, Boy, Nida, Rita, Maria, Aleth & Ling-ling. The couple built their family home in Tinago, Dauis, Bohol, Philippines and made a living mostly through farming corns, coconuts & several kinds of root crops.
In 1993, Toring and Conrado along with their four younger daughters migrated to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada to join with their eldest daughter, Annie. They survived the many challenges of being migrants despite their old age. Toring has always said that their most powerful weapons against all challenges were their constant prayers and love.
To her family, Toring will always be remembered as the loving and caring wife and mother/grandmother/great-grandmother. Even to her death, she never ceases to remind her family to always respect, love and care for each other, as she clearly written on her last will.
Toring is survived by her husband, eight children and children-in-law, fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
