Walter enjoyed spending a lot of time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in which he was blessed to have 17. He had a passion for farming since he grew up on a farm and owned farmland in Parkland County throughout his life. He hobby farmed this land for many years. In his latter years, he had steady involvement with this farm moving from actual farming to maintenance and “puttering around”, as farmers often do, which he enjoyed up to a few months before his passing. He had a successful 38 year career as a professional driver for the Edmonton Transit System where he obtained many safe driving awards and a great rapport with many, many passengers. His main hobby was making wooden models,to scale, of antique farm equipment. Many of these models were of equipment he worked with as a child growing up on the farm. He had a grounded faith in Jesus Christ and he was an active member of McKernan Baptist Church for many decades up until his passing. He will be dearly missed by his family.
