On September 23, Bill Banks passed away peacefully at the age of 90 after a courageous battle with cancer. Bill was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Flo; as well as his sister, Eileen and brother, Ben. He is survived by his children Heather (Bob Hanson), Betty jo (Bill Werthmann) and Patrick all of Edmonton, Don (Karen) of Dieppe, NB and Brian of Calgary; numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2013 at Hainstock’s Funeral Home, 9810- 34 Avenue, Edmonton. The family extends their gratitude to the staff of Unit 53 along with the palliative care staff of unit 43 at the Grey Nun’s Hospital. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
