Bill will always be loved, fondly remembered, and sadly missed by his three children, Keith (Dolly) of Lac Ste. Anne County, AB, Brenda of Edmonton, Andy (Dianne) of Sherwood Park, AB; his grandchildren, Sarah (Tim), Peter, Rianna, Brendan; and his great-grandchildren, Mia, Bianca, and Asher. Bill was predeceased by his wife, Mona, in 2014. Bill was a wonderful, gentle, generous, and fun husband, father, grandpa, and great-grandpa.
Born in Regina, SK, and a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Bill proudly worked for several decades as a mechanical engineer (P.Eng.) and project manager for Imperial Oil at refineries in Regina, Sarnia, ON, and Edmonton. He and his late wife, Mona, enjoyed and maintained contact with many University of Saskatchewan Alumni, Imperial Oil friends and co-workers across the country. A resident of Edmonton since 1973, Bill also had many friends locally with whom he and Mona participated in such activities as line dancing, Scottish country dancing, and regular Imperial Oil Annuitants social events.
Due to COVID health restrictions, a private family memorial service will be held at Hainstock’s Funeral Home, 9810 34 Ave., Edmonton, with interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome donations in Bill’s name to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or to the Edmonton Food Bank.
