Bill passed away at the age of 91, on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 with family by his side. Known as "Mr.Central", Bill was heavily involved with hockey in the City of Edmonton. Bill started in 1967-68 flooding rinks at Lendrum Community hall and continued on with his involvement with the Southwest zone, CHHC, EFHC and Minor Hockey. Retired from AGT (Telus) after 36 years, Bill took the old rotary phones and charts he made up to the Kinsmen arena's central office. He along with other members of Minor Hockey would man these phones, recording all the games statistics. He would always be there, earning him the title of "Mr.Central".
Over the 60 years of volunteering, Bill was honored with awards, too numerous to mention. Although he announced his retirement in 2017, Bill would always be around to help out. Hockey was in his blood. Predeceased by his parents, Bill Sr and Catherine, his sister Donna, he leaves his brother Gordon (Carolyn), nephew Michael, niece Laura in Ontario, his loving wife of 68 years, Beverley, two children, Laurie (Gary) , two grandchildren, Bill (kayla), Christine (Dean), two great grandsons, DJ, Ace and soon to make an appearance, A Great Granddaughter, Charlie. Son Bill (Tracey), two Grandsons, Liam and Grayson. To Bill, family was very important to him. During their retirement years, Bill and Bev were always together.
They were inseparable. He truly will be missed.
