Wit passed away peacefully on December 27, 2020 at the age of 67. He leaves his wife Tami of 26 years; stepsons, Bohtan and Tohler; his brother, Romain Gutter and sisters, Christine Kutinsky (David), and Wanda Croft (John). He also leaves many nephews and nieces, and a whole lot of friends. He was predeceased by his parents Dr. Zbigniew and Lilianne Gutter, and his beloved son Deklin.
Wit had many journeys in his life, each one building on the previous one, creating a witty, intelligent, and generous person, who touched many, especially those in need. It was what many called "Witold's Way"..... there was only one way of doing things.....of course Witold's Way. He lived his life like no other, and is now beginning yet another journey.
Wit was born in Lamont, went to High School at St Mary's in Edmonton, graduated from law school at the U of A, and called to the bar in 1986. He then went on to passionately create a successful law practice, helping many. This was shown by his generosity, involvement and creation of many charitable organizations, and many hours working pro bono.
The family would like to thank all those involved in his care, and appreciate all the support from his loved ones and friends. Due to COVID-19, a private family service will be held, and a celebration of life will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Helping Hands (non-profit Wit created in memory of his son Deklin), and Finders Keepers. Donations are directed towards local Adolescent Mental Health programs and can be made to [email protected].
