Ma del Carmen Ibarra Rescendez , age 70, passed away peacefully at her home in Laveen, Arizona, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, December 4th, 2018. She was born on February 7, 1948 in Jerez, Zacatecas to J. Refugio Ibarra and Antonia Recendez.
On August 5th, 1975, she married Santiago Covarrubias. Together, they had 3 children.
Carmen and Santiago also resided in Tonala, Jalisco, MX. They enjoyed traveling together, as well as spending time with family and friends. Carmen's special interests and hobbies included raising a family and caring for God’s creation through her blossoming flowers and plants that she often spoke too. Carmen loved the simplest things in life. From Estee Lauder to bearing her feet in the sand but most importantly surrounding herself with Family. She was fascinated by the sound of music, more by the sound of her husband's voice everytime he serenaded her with Mariachi.
Her nurturing and caring ways, her faith in religion, her devotion to her family and life as her loving hands extended and touched other aspects of this world. Proud and devoted wife as she kept the foundation strong for the house. As we reflect on many pictures, she stood tall on top of her occasional cervecita while she enjoyed life and lived it as much as possible.
There is not enough words in any language that will come close to writing an obituary for Carmen Covarrubias, our mother who we share to the world for whom ever reads this in her remembrance.
Thank you Mom, Mother, mami, comadre, grandma & Weta, in which names are dear to our heart. God in heaven sent you from above, now we send you back to God and Heaven which just got stronger. We LOVE you Mami.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 44 years, Santiago, sons, Santiago (Junior), Eduardo (Walo), and daughter Carmen (Carmelita); 3 grandchildren, Santiago III (Gordo), Isabella (Princess House), and Nakoa (Vicente); 5 sisters, 3 brothers and many nieces and nephews.
