Worked will Ralph for many years, i think he may have been the finest man i ever knew, bar none.
I never heard a bad word from his mouth, loved his family, respected almost everyone, and i honestly never heard him speak ill of anyone. If we all could live up to this example the world would be almost perfect. He is a loss to every human being i know. RIP Ralph, we will all miss you.

I was working Alpine patrol in 1989 when I had an opportunity to become a rural Deputy out of Pine Valley. I knew nothing about being a rural deputy but I knew who the expert was. Ralph! Ralph and I sat on his back porch, had a beer or so and he told me about his time in rural and raising his family. I spent 21 years in rural after that thanks to Ralph. Thank you Ralph. You are missed. May you Rest In Peace.

A finer man to have worked with, and learned from would be difficult to find. Thank you Ralph, you taught me how to be a Resident Deputy and an honest goal worthy Deputy Sheriff. Others certainly influenced my career but you are at the top of the list.
Thank you again, and rest in our God's arms.

There was no finer man than Ralph Nunnery and no finer lady than Betty. I enjoyed working with Ralph, honest, forthright and always with a smile. Gay and I truly enjoyed our friendship with Ralph and Betty and their entire family. Thanks for all the great memories.
It is a real honor to have called them friends.

Condolences from the family of the late Charles Perkins Jr., co-owner of Laguna Junction and Perkins Bros. Store in Descanso. Our Dad told us many wonderful stories about his friendship and admiration of Sheriff Nunnery. We knew that if we ever needed help, Sheriff Nunnery would be the person to go to. May your cherished memories help ease your pain at this sad time.

I first met Ralph in 1970 during the big county fire that year. As a new deputy, I was temporarily assigned to Pine Valley to assist as needed and learned just what a "Rural Deputy" was. Ralph was "the Sheriff" as far as Pine Valley was concerned! It has been my pleasure and an honor to have known him. If God needs a "back country Deputy", He now has the best of the best.

My dad & uncle owned the Descanso store. When I was 10 years old, I started working at the store and was there most Saturdays and vacations. Deputy Nunnery came by often and was a friend and adviser to me. What a fine man and positive ambassador for law enforcement! I have thought of him often through the years. My dad thought so highly of Ralph Nunnery! His passing is very sad but he had a great, long life!
