On April 4, 2019 our beloved Ann Mae Farr left this earth to find eternal peace in heaven. Born in Detroit, Michigan on May 23, 1949, and a longtime resident of La Mesa, California she leaves behind many amazing friendships and beautiful family. “Annie” graduated from Monte Vista High School in 1967 as a proud Monarch and attended Grossmont College. She was a dedicated Travel Agent at Rainbow Travel for the last 26 years and Real Estate Agent for San Terra Properties. She is well known for the beautiful friendships she cultivated through her endeavors and travels. However, her greatest joy and pride came from being a mom and grandma.

Annie leaves behind to cherish her loving memories, her life partner Harry; Her Children Tina, Steve, and Nick. Son in law Chris and Daughter in law Kaitlyn. Her 96-year-old father Hank Sr. and siblings, Hank, Paul and JoAnn. Her Sister in laws Kathy and Pam and her Brother in law Steve. Her 4 Grandchildren; Jacob (14), Bailey (11), Presley (6), and Maddon (3). She was preceded in death by her mother, Angela, who we know was there to welcome her home.

At age 69, Annie lost her 10-year battle to a debilitating disease called amyloidosis with so much strength and grace. She was the epitome of the phrase, “Never give up”. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to www.amyloidosissupport.org , a place where Annie found support and made many friends fighting the same disease. Every day this organization provides education, and through their efforts and research, we pray that one day Annie’s dream of a cure will come true!

My favorite memories of childhood came from my best little friends in the world; Tina, Steve, Nick, Celena, Paulette, Paul Jr., my sisters of course Erica and Denise. I thought I had 3 moms growing up because they shared their lives and friendship so much with us before I even knew what the value of that meant; My mama Tina Sweikhart, Armida Diaz and Annie Farr. Thank you for taking care of me and my sisters and making me a part of your family. To Annie and the Farr family, I love you so much more than I ever let you know. Thank you for everything.

I will forever remember our trip to Washington DC. We three couples had so much fun that week. Especially our Segway tour of downtown Washington! Mike and I didn’t get to see you and Harry that much but in our two trips to California and your trip here to Indiana were some of our most precious memories! You will be sorely missed but I know you’re in a much better place and I’ll see you again someday!

Dear Annie - I met you only a few times but came to know you through your dear friends Melissa and Grant. Your impact on people was like a ripple on the pond, growing even without your knowledge. Warmth, love, happiness shared freely and most especially noted is the extraordinary inspiring bravery and courage with which you fought the past 10 years of cancer. Peace be with you sweet girl, know you are so loved and will be so missed by so many.

Annie was one of the most likable and positive people I have ever known. She was a light to the world and a blessing to her friends and family.

She used to work for me at Grossmont Hospital back in the 90’s. She was a joy and a delight as a co-worker and as friend. I never tired of listening to her stories and her mild sarcasm. I will never forget the prank she pulled on Jo Ann Sandora Candy switching the turkey for a Cornish hen.
She was one of a kind.

I am in England visiting my daughter and was shocked to see the Facebook posting. She will be missed and be forever part of my life. May she Rest In Peace.

I met Annie when I was Christina’s and Steve’s teacher at Avocado School. We became friends and she ended up watching my son, Patrick, who was Nicki’s age. She had a heart of gold and the world was a better place because of her.
