Dr. Bruce Roy Fox, retired U.S. Navy Dental Commander, went home to Jesus on May 3, 2025, at the age of 81, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, LaVonda (Vonnie) Rae Meyer Fox, and their two children, Bradley (Brad) Fox and Christina (Tina) Fox Rose.
Born December 19, 1943, in Philadelphia, Bruce was raised in Nebraska and graduated from Red Cloud High School in 1962. He earned his DDS from the University of Nebraska, where he also met Vonnie. They married in August 1968 before Bruce began a 20-year Navy career, with assignments around the U.S. and overseas. He earned a Master’s in Oral Biology from George Washington University.
After retiring from the Navy, Bruce worked in real estate, missions, and media ministry, including as a radio host on KFMB. He later earned three graduate theology degrees and served as a professor, lay counselor, deacon, and Gideon—always passionate about sharing God’s word. He wrote hundreds of articles for GotQuestions.org and was known for carrying pocket Bibles, his love of Nebraska football, and deep pride in his family.
Bruce is also survived by his sister, Kay Baldwin, five grandchildren, and many extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved grandmother, Jessie Fox.
