Carl Ruiz was a machinist in the aerospace industry, a retired computer teacher for the San Diego Center for the Blind, and a Sergeant First Class in the United States Army. Born in Santa Barbara to George and Virginia Ruiz, he grew up alongside his four brothers, Ernie, Russell, Paul, and Barney.
Carl leaves behind his beloved wife of over 50 years, Carol; his sons, Chad and Brad; his cherished grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler, Karter, Cash, and Cheyenne; and his two great-grandchildren, Lexi and Trevor.
A true patriot, Carl had an unwavering devotion to his family and a deep love for animals and the outdoors. He passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, surrounded by those who loved him.
Laughter was his business—and business was good.
Visitation will be held at El Cajon Mortuary and Cremation Service, 684 South Mollison Ave., El Cajon, CA 92020, on March 20, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Committal Service will be held at Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Dr, San Diego, CA 92122, on March 23, 2026, from 11:15 am to 11:45 pm.
