Carolyn Ann Hill

Carolyn Kozak, born on April 12, 1950, in Orange, California, passed away peacefully in her home on August 30, 2026. Her passing marks the end of a life that was filled with love, warmth, and an unwavering commitment to her family and community.

Born to Henry and Mary Kozak, Carolyn grew up in a household that cherished togetherness and hard work. She attended OLP in San Diego, where she forged lifelong friendships and developed a strong sense of community that would remain with her throughout her life.

For 35 years, Carolyn dedicated herself to working as a waitress at her family's restaurant, Kozak's, in El Cajon, CA. Her cheerful demeanor and engaging conversations made everyone feel like family. Whether she was serving a regular or meeting a customer for the first time, Carolyn had a unique ability to make everyone feel special and welcome.

A devout Catholic, Carolyn's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She dedicated herself to serving others and living her life with compassion and kindness. Her spiritual warmth extended beyond her church community and into every corner of her life. She was also the biggest San Diego Padres fan since 1969, cheering on her beloved team with a passion that was contagious to all who knew her.

Carolyn was beloved by her family, especially her son Jeffrey and her cherished grandson, Everett. She was the embodiment of love and kindness, a beacon of light and strength for her family. Her legacy of love and generosity lives on in them, as well as in the countless lives she touched throughout her life.

In honoring Carolyn's memory, her family suggests donations be made to a charity of your choice in her name. Carolyn's family takes comfort in knowing that her spirit will live on in the actions and kindness of those who knew her.
