

A devoted mother, grandmother and friend, her life was a testament to the unconditional love of God. If you were a friend of her children, you were instantly adopted as family and your life was permanently enriched by her presence and love.
She will be remembered for her legendary hospitality. Nobody ever left her house hungry and was famous for serving delicious spicy food to absolutely everyone, whether they liked heat or not. Those meals were served with warmth, open ears and lots of love.
Celia immigrated to Holtville in the early 1960s and married the love of her life Rosario Montes on January 7, 1968. They were married for 52 years and had four children. Celia worked seasonally for Dole Enterprises and retired in 1998.
Above all, Celia’s greatest joy were her children and grandchildren. Her family was her life and she spoiled them with profound love.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Rosario Montes, her daughter Laura Montes. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, laughter and will be deeply missed by her children: (Daughter: Norma Figueroa, husband Rigo Figueroa), (Son: Jose R. Montes, wife Angelica Montes) (Son: Ricardo Montes, wife Vicki Montes)
Grandchildren: Adam Montes, Clarissa Kransler, Adrian Figueroa, Anthony Figueroa, Christopher Montes and countless extended family members and friends whose lives she touched.
