David Ambler

beloved brother, husband, stepfather and grandfather, and devout Christian.

Dave was born on March 27th, 1955 in San Diego, CA. He attended Christ Lutheran School,

then to Helix high school in La Mesa, CA. In high school, he played on the freshman basketball

team and ran hurdles in track.

After high school, he earned an Architectural Drafting certificate from a school in Glendale, AZ.

He had a 40 year career as a Land Surveyor.

Dave and his late wife Ginny enjoyed many years serving as Superintendents of Sunday

School of Christ Lutheran church. He spent many of his adult years playing softball.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Warren (Pete) and Wauneta Ambler and his late

wife, Virginia Von Behren Ambler. He is survived by his second wife Vicki Froistad; stepson Eric

Froistad (Erica); stepdaughter Lisa Jagers (Nathaniel); Granddaughters Lorelei, Aeralyn, Ember,

Emily and a grandson on the way; siblings Janice Massmann (Paul) and Gerald Ambler;

Nephews Andrew, Jonathan and Nathan Massmann; and Niece Kelli Groscost.

A celebration of life will be held at Christ Lutheran Church in La Mesa, CA on Saturday, October

5th, 2024 at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Christ

Lutheran Church in the memory of Dave Ambler.
