David Schnitz was a 50 year resident of Chula Vista. He graduated from Castle Park High School and has called east Chula Vista home for the past 30 years. Often found walking around Eastlake or running around the Bonita golf course in his younger years, he was a devoted husband, father, and Tata who loved his family deeply, keeping his black corvette pristine, and traveling with his wife of 46 year Shirley.
Carl von Clausewitz, a Prussian general, is quoted as saying, “Courage, above all things, is the first quality of a warrior.” David faced his cancer with the courage of true warrior. While he certainly slowed down a bit in the last several months, he fiercely endured the various medical procedures and surgeries to fight the cancer he developed for as long as he possibly could. Unfortunately, his body finally surrendered on April 26th. David will be greatly missed.
