Dionisio Laudit Claridad

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Dionisio “John” Claridad at the age of 84 years old on December 11, 2024 at 12:46AM. He died peacefully in the home surrounded by his loved ones.

John was one of twelve children born to Saturnino Claridad and Basilisa Laudit on February 8, 1940 in Sorsogon, Philippines. He graduated from Manila High School and also graduated with a law degree from the University of Manila. He served as a patrolman at Pasay City Police Department before passing the bar exam and began practicing law as an attorney.

John met, fell in love and married Victoria Abary on July 22, 1969 in Manila, Philippines. They began a family which consisted of two daughters. The family immigrated to Chicago in 1981 and resided in Evanston for 40 years. John worked as a Toyota car salesman for 27 years in Chicago.

John enjoyed telling stories and jokes to anyone he met, dancing and has a healthy appetite for all types of foods. He was best known for his generosity to both his family and friends as well as an immeasurable love for animals especially the dogs he had during his lifetime.

John Claridad is survived by his wife of 55 years, Vicky Claridad, and his two daughters, Jovi-Anne Claridad of Hobart, Indiana and Jesu-Cristina Skroch and son-in-law Thomas Skroch of El Cajon, California.

The family will have a viewing on January 9, 2025 from 3pm to 7pm at El Cajon Mortuary 684 S. Mollison Ave, El Cajon, California 92020. The service will be held the following day at the same address on January 10, 2025 from 11am to noon.
