Dorothy went to join her husband Carlos Langston in heaven on the morning of May 10, 2019. She passed away peacefully at her home.
Dorothy was born May 14, 1934 in Alamosa Colorado to Merlin R. Manning and Edith C. Manning. She grew up in La Jara Colorado until she graduated from High School and the family moved to Orem Utah.
She graduated from Brigham Young University with an elementary school teaching degree. She then moved to San Diego to teach. She met her husband Carlos at her boyfriend’s funeral. They were married July 11, 1957 in her parent’s backyard in Orem Utah. They were Sealed for eternity in the Los Angeles Temple in November 1958.
Dorothy taught Special Education at Bostonia Elementary School until she retired in June 2006.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Carlos Langston.
She leaves behind her 5 children Kim St. Clair (Mike Chalfant), Eric (Jeannette), Jodi, Todd (Allison) and Andrea (Jamey) Prescott. She had 17 grandchildren and their spouses and 12 Great Grandkids.
The viewing will be at May 22, 2019 at 10:00 am with the funeral following at 11:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 1701 Granite Hills Drive, El Cajon, CA 92019.
