Elvia Sanchez Newingham

Elvia S. Newingham, 97 years young, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday August 20, 2020 at 12: 18PM. Mom was born on March 11, 1923 in Veracruz, Mexico to Abraham Sanchez Gallegos and Maria Morales. Around 1960 she immigrated from Mexico to the United States where she met and married Vernon D. Newingham on November 23, 1962, she then helped finish raising his children, Robert Newingham, Tim Newingham, Linda Newingham, and Susie Newingham on 616 Ballard Street, El Cajon, California 92021. Mom never had children of her own however both she and Vernon D Newingham took on the task to raise both Elvia Sanchez and Mary Sanchez at newborns. Elvia S. Newingham will be remembered for holding long conversations and for helping many people. She leaves behind her nieces Elvia Star, Rosa Sanchez, Dora Sanchez, Nephews Neftali Morales, Walter Sanchez, and many more nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, Step Grandchildren Alicia Pineda, Claudia Heras, Deanna Heras, Taylor McDaniel, Sergio Heras, Aaron McDaniel, Chelsea McDaniel, and Lina Vieyra, and 2 Step Great-great grandchildren, Jeremiah Pineda and Isabella Pineda. Viewing will be Friday September 4th at 10am – 11:30am and Services will be at 11:30am followed by lunch at El Cajon Mortuary on 684 South Mollison Ave., El Cajon Ca 92020. Special Thanks to Veronica Valle, and the entire staff at Kearny Mesa Nursing and Rehab for the expert, loving and gentle care they provided until she went home.
