

Erminie Joan Freeman, aged 87, died peacefully at home on October 10, 2017. Erminie was born on June 9, 1930 in Santa Barbara, California, and was an only child. At age 12, she lost her father in an automobile accident, causing her to move to Denver, Colorado to live with her mother's family. After completing 7th grade, she traveled by train to Washington, D.C. to be with her mother who had relocated to the Capital City. A year later, they moved to Maryland where Erminie attended high school. She attained additional education at the Washington School for Secretaries in the Capital City.
She married Elbert Freeman in 1947 and the couple moved to San Diego, California. Erminie gave birth to five children: Roy, Arthur, Carl, Deborah and Denise. In 1954 Elbert Jr (Elbert's son from a previous marriage) joined their family.
In 1975. Erminie received her R.N. degree from Grossmont College and began her career in nursing from which she retired in 1992.
Erminie accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior in 1948 and has been active in studying the scriptures ever since. She enjoyed her family, church, working in her yard, going on walks and visiting with her friends.
