My Dad, Guy Perry Luck, passed away peacefully at age 92 on Sunday, June 5, 2016at 2:33 p.m.. He was in the Army's 11th Airborne Division in Asian Pacific Theater in WWII. This paratrooper division was called "The Angels". My Dad received several decorations and citations such as an American Campaign Medal, an Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, A Philippine Liberation Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, and a good Conduct Medal. He was only 19 years old. He was a hard worker all his life. In many ways he led nine lives because he had some close calls in some of his tree trimming side jobs. He worked until he was 85 years old. His work ethic was par excellent! My parents celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary May 19, 2016. Unbelievable! They had a wonderful love legacy going for the family and for others to witness. My Dad was a classic Dad for that period of time. He was a car guy and he was so good about taking the family to beach picnics, and the drive-ins. He always liked the word CHAMP and it is ironic that he passed away on the heels of the champ, Muhammad Ali. (MY Dad always liked watching boxing matches). He died a day before the anniversary on D-Day as well. He was a Hero in our family. He was ready to be promoted. He was ready to meet his Maker.
