He graduated from Grossmont High School in 1952
He was a volunteer fireman in Alpine from 1951 until 1962
Attended San Diego City College where he studied botany.
He was in the Army in 1954, during the Korean Conflict.
Dad was a barber. He went to barber college on the G.I. Bill.
Dad worked for the State of California first as a Maintenance Man and then as a Stationary Engineer.
He married Miriam, the love of his life, on March 25, 1956.
He has two children, Lorraine (Michael) Rogge and Edward (Connie) Bates
Two Grandsons, Shawn (Cecilia) Barrett and Alexander Rogge
One Great Grandson, Zane Barrett
Dad was a loving father and would do anything for his family.
Dad is a devout Christian. He is now in heaven with Mom and Jesus.
If there is one word to sum up dad, it is integrity.
Dad lived in National City, Alpine, El Cajon and finally Tucson, Arizona.
A graveside service for John will be held Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 11:00 AM at Alpine Cemetery Association, 2495 W Victoria Dr, Alpine, CA 91901.
