John's passing was shocking and sad for me as we had been in touch in recent years after having lost touch for decades. He was interested in what I was doing, told me about his family and happiness, and always sent uplifting messages. We exchanged Christmas greetings then suddenly I found out he was gone. I send love to all his family. I hope we will be united one day. 


John Garcia was my TaTa. I wasn’t raised on the west coast so I didn’t meet him until I was around ten. When I did meet him, he would always tell me how proud he was of me for doing well in school and always told me I was beautiful. He’s one of the only people to call me Sonnie. I have two girls of my own now and whenever I post something on Facebook with them he would always love it and comment with thank you. He would thank me for being a good mom and for raising his great granddaughters. I am very sad that they never got a chance to meet him but I know he will be watching over all of us and that makes me happy. I love you TaTa and thank YOU!

John you will be missed here on earth but welcomed by many loved ones who were waiting for you in Heaven.  Sending prayers to help you on your way. 

John Garcia was my TaTa, and honestly he was the best TaTa anyone could ever ask for. No matter what happened he always had your back. I will miss so much him calling me Baby Girl. He always made me smile and made sure no matter what that I was okay. From bad days at work to terrible break ups. He was my shoulder to cry on. He was a TaTa like no other. Lit up the room with laughter. I'm sorry I couldn't get the words out to say good bye properly so here it is: I love you so much TaTa and you have taught me so many things in life. We may have fought but we still stood by one another. I can't tell you how much this family will miss you. Rest easy. I love you -Baby girl

John was my father and I’m the oldest of 3 of his children.  My father was not your typical father, he was quite a character and always made my sister and I laugh no matter what he did or we did and the more he would get upset about anything the harder we would laugh until he would then smile.   His grandchildren loved him very much and he would joke with them until they all laughed so hard it hurt.
My father wasn’t in our lives much as I was growing up however as an adult we became a bit closer and I knew that no matter what he was my father and there was nothing I wouldn’t do for him because it was my responsibility as his daughter.  
We have our memories Pop always and I keep waiting for you to call me at the first of the month to help you pay your bills..lol.
I love you always and I will keep you and your memories alive with me and your grandchildren and great grandchildren as well.  As I think about you I can’t help but smile and laugh because that is how we do it.  
I love you Pop and miss you so much.
