Born in Kapsia, Greece in 1949 to George and Vasiliki Mellos, he spent his early years in a farming community cultivating fruits and vegetables. In his late teens, he decided to immigrate to the United States in search of new opportunities. For 35 years, John dedicated his career to VONS, where he worked as a produce clerk before retiring in 2009. In his free time, he found joy in playing poker and Greek card games with his friends and family and tending his garden filled with fruit trees and other plants. His Sundays were spent going to church to sing and worship and watching his favorite sport of football. Additionally, he liked traveling to new places, embarking on countless road trips with his wife. He loved to chit chat and cared for his family and friends deeply.
John is survived by his wife Linda, his brother Nick, his children George and Vickie, grandchildren Kallie, Paulina and also on Linda’s side 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, and his dog Tucker.
