It is with much sadness that the family of Julie Ann Owen announces her passing on December 5, 2018 to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Julie was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her family later moved to Waipahu where she graduated from Waipahu high school. She met her Lord and Savior at Bethany Assembly of God in Aiea, Hawaii. There, she met her husband, Roger, who was serving as a Radioman in the U.S. Navy. They married in October 1971. Her Son, David, and Daughter, Elena, were both born at Tripler Army Hospital. They all later moved to the mainland in October 1974 when Roger was discharged from the U.S. Navy.
Julie lived the rest of her life in Lakeside and El Cajon. She served over twenty years working for the Cajon Valley School District. During this time, she had other occupations in Avon and Home Interiors. She was very talented in decorating and ceramics.
Julie’s most beloved title was “Tutu” which stands for Grandmother in Hawaiian. She was blessed with five grandchildren whom she loved immensely. Her most cherished memories were of her children and grandchildren.
Julie is survived by her husband of 47 years, Roger; son David; daughter Elena, grandsons Kyle and Brenden; granddaughters Taylor, Bailey and Ashley; sister Jo Ann and brother James. A Celebration of Life will be held at El Cajon Mortuary, 684 S. Mollison Avenue, El Cajon on December 15th with a reception following.
