Lawrence Bruce Norris

peacefully Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at the age of 91, in La Mesa, California. Lawrence is

preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Carole Ann Norris, parents Leo and May Norris, and

siblings Shirley & Stuart. Lawrence is survived by his sisters Carol & Lois, his three children

Catherine, John, and Leslie, 6 grandchildren Alexis, Brandon, Andrew, David, Nancy, Michael,

and 7 great-grandchildren.

Lawrence joined the U.S. Navy in 1949 at the age of 17. In 1959, he met and married

the love of his life, Carole, at Great Lakes, Illinois. He fought in the Korean and Vietnam war on

the USS Cunningham and the USS KittyHawk. After his retirement from the service in 1985, he

worked for the city of San Diego where he retired in 1999.

After retirement, Lawrence and Carole enjoyed traveling cross country in their

motorhome visiting family and friends from the West Coast to the East Coast. They also

attended Naval reunions, for the USS Cunningham, all over the U.S. He was a die hard

Chargers, Padres, and Notre Dame Fighting Irish fan.

Lawrence was proud to serve his country, proud of his family, and respected by many.

He will be deeply missed by the people closest to him.
