Melquiades Burgos Rivera, age 90, of Spring Valley, California passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023. Melquiades was born in Calexico, California.

Melquiades is survived by his son Anthony Rivera of Spring Valley, California; and his daughter Melissa Cain of Vista, California; his brother Felipe Rivera of El Centro, California and his sister Velia Woodring of San Diego, California.

Melquiades was preceded in death by his spouse Joan Rivera; his daughter Maria Campbell (Tom Campbell); his brother Alex Rivera; his brother Hector Rivera and his sisters Carmen Burgos, Maria Flores and Velia Woodring.

Mel is also survived by 4 grandchildren.

A memorial service for Melquiades will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at El Cajon Mortuary and Cremation Service, 684 South Mollison Ave., El Cajon, CA 92020, followed by a reception from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
