Patsy Ruth Snow Smith was born on July 28, 1932, in Reck, Oklahoma, the youngest daughter of Minnie May Lockwood and William Presley. She grew up with her siblings, Mary, Pearl, and William, and later moved with her family to Chula Vista, California.
In 1953, Patsy married Lloyd Snow, and together they raised four children—Judi, Carol, Mike, and Debbie. As the wife of a U.S. Navy serviceman, Patsy adopted a life of travel, living in many places across the country, including Honolulu, Bethesda, Chicago, Norfolk, and Pleasonton/Treasure Island, before eventually returning to San Diego.
In 1978, Patsy experienced a profound loss when Lloyd passed away suddenly. Her faith, family, and church community sustained her during this difficult time. She and Lloyd were charter members of Trinity Baptist Church in El Cajon.
In 1979, Patsy married Bob Smith, beginning a second chapter of love and companionship. Their marriage blended two families, and together they shared a life centered on family, faith, and hospitality. After Bob’s retirement from the Post Office, they enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Canada, attending family events, and welcoming others into their home.
In 2017, Patsy and Bob moved to Waterford Terrace in La Mesa, where they quickly formed new friendships. Patsy devoted herself to Bob as his health declined, caring for him with patience and love until his passing in October 2019.
In her later years at Waterford, Patsy remained active and social, enjoying bingo, poker keno, and Mexican Train dominoes. She was known for her kindness, resilience, and unwavering faith.
Patsy is survived by her children, Mike Snow (Debi) and Judi Brown (Billy), and by Bob’s children: Robin Jennings (Charlie), Larry Smith (Denise), Susan Parker (Sean), and Cheryl Lemox (Dave). Known affectionately as “Grandma” and “Gigi,” she was loved by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Patsy Ruth Snow Smith will be remembered for her love for family, her strong faith, and her resilience. She will be missed by all who loved her.
