

He was a Tribal Member from the Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians and resided on the reservation. He deeply loved his tribe and family. In the early stages of the Casinos development he Lobbied for the tribe's rights to keep Indian gaming on the reservations, he was a true advocate for jobs and justice- He always said that those were the best times of his life. He moved onto the maintenance and water programs on the reservation until he took and early retirement to spend time with his family, he always maintained that he was a jack of all trades but a master of none.
Robert was a very comical person, his favorite pass time was smoking, drinking, and he loved a loose slot machine. He loved to have long engaging and sometimes inappropriate conversations and hang out with family. Robert had faced many challenges in his life, but despite that, he had many friends due his good and kind nature that he possessed. He was the friend that would do anything he could to help someone out often there were times he put them before himself, if you needed to talk, he would listen and if you needed advice, he would give it. He had an open mind and accepted all walks of life in his home and in his life and was able to have many engaging conversations because of how open minded he was.
in his last days of life, he told his oldest daughter how much he loved all of his children, but most of all how much he loved his grandson, Oz Healy, that he was the best gift in his life.
He was dearly loved by his children and will be missed, he was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Henderson and survived by his children Tabetha A Healy, Kathleen M Henderson, Christina M Demusio, Melissa Clark daughter in law, Sons Robert Dale Henderson II, Son in law Patrick J Healy, Grandson Oz Joseph Healy - we had a blended family and he had a good relationship with his first was until his passing Debra Hainer and Margaret Liddle Mother in law. He is also survived by his loving cousins, Michelle and Ron Cuero, Georgina Boudreau, Joyce Largo, Linda Quihuis, Andrea Najera, Dan Mason, Shenelle Mason and many Great Aunts, Uncles and little Cousins
His Services viewing will be10/1/20 at the El Cajon Mortuary at 4:00 PM, Traditional wake at the Viejas Tribal Hall 10/2/2020 at 5PM and Funeral 10/3/2020 10 AM at the Viejas Indian Reservation Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic church.
