Robert, aka Bob, age 70 of Spring Valley, is survived by his son Brady Underwood, AZ; sister Phyllis Whittington, Spring Valley; brother David (Amelia) Underwood, OR; Rusty (Teresa) Melton, Oceanside; Cathy (Ray) Diaz, TX; 1 grandson, 2 granddaughter's & 2 great granddaughter's. Numerous nieces, nephews & cousins.
Bob was born and raised in Brawley with a short time in Imperial. Bob was a fun loving adventurous boy. Involved in Baseball and FFA, excelling in both. Worked for Valley Nitrogen for many years and then farming until he relocated to San Diego in his mid 20's. Bob worked maintenance and handyman for many years and transitioned into woodworking and cabinets. Relocating to Hawaii in the early 90's and remained there until 2015. Bob was reunited with his son and grandkids in 2015 and relocated to Arizona in 2017 then back to San Diego in 2020 for health reasons. Bob is dearly loved and missed by many. The family will cling to his never say no attitude and long stories whether true or embellished.
Predeceased by father Ellis C. Underwood; mother Anna L Melton; sister Cheri Duck.
Services will be February 28th 11:00am at Riverview Cemetery in Brawley Ca. Please join us immediately after at Brownies Diner in Brawley to visit, tell stories, laugh, cry and enjoy Bob’s memory. If sending flowers please send to Riverview Cemetery in leiu of El Cajon Mortuary.
