My husband and I were blessed to have known a most life-loving friend, Chappy!
We shared many fond memories with Chappy and with our very small circle of friends in San Diego, especially at Donut time on Sundays. To us, Chappy was a fighter and our true friend. Even though we knew he was in pain, he always showed up well dressed with a smile on his face, prepared to tackle the day and had even altered his routine to help us with our move. We appreciated him caring for us.
Chappy had the ability to make us feel at ease, thus made us feel wanted and loved in his company. He made us feel like a part of his family which made us less homesick, and for that very reason, Chappy will really be missed by us. We are truly grateful for having met such a great loving and caring individual. Chappy and family, you are in our prayers.

Sincerely Paul and Teresa

I will always remember what a warm and loving uncle Rich was. I will miss him dearly. I am so happy I got to talk to him at the family reunion in June.

I had the pleasure of knowing Grandpa Chapman for only 9 years. In those 9 years, I came to know a loving and kind hearted man. Grandpa Chapman had a way of knowing when to call or send a MarcoPolo video while Brian, his favorite grandson, (wink, wink) was deployed. He had a way of cheering us up and making us laugh. Grandpa and Dottie even came out to Lemoore to visit us in their camper and we had hours of great conversation and company. The camper reminded me of my childhood which made it all the more special. I wish we had more time to make more memories and for the great-grandkids to get to know the man we knew and loved. I am thankful to have had the ability to call him family. We will cherish the videos and the memories until we see him again. Rest In Peace Grandpa. We love you.
